Family trees can be confusing to me. It is not so much as who sits on the branch next to you, as to the proper name to call them. My cousin, Katy, has a daughter named Corey. Now since Katy is my first cousin, I think that Corey is my "first cousin, once removed".....some people tell me she is my second cousin. Maybe second cousin is the same thing, just a shorter version....I am not sure, so if anyone knows, please tell me. Now, after that, Corey, be she my first cousin, once removed, or my second cousin, has not seen Jennifer since they were little girls, like 7 or 8 years old, at the most. And she has never met Jessica and Catherine. Corey requested some pics of the girls. I am posting this one, although it is not the most recent, I love this picture. So here are my daughters, from left to right, Jessica, Jennifer, and Catherine( this picture was taken BM.....before Mia)

I don't know what kind of cousins we are either! I've analized this a little myself and I really have no idea either! I guess it doesn't really matter, we're family and that's what counts! Like you, my side of the family is kind of small. I only have one first cousin. So, it's really nice to know there's more out there!
I'm so glad you posted pictures of the girls. They are so beautiful! Tell Jennifer Happy birthday from her long lost cousin!
Oh, and believe it or not...you are a scrapbooker. You're blog is your scrapbook. You've got pictures and stories...That's all you need!
Have a great weekend! Keep bloggin' :O)
Jami Dean, You and I are 1st cousins. You and Corey Ann are 1st cousins once removed. Jennifer and I are 1st cousins once removed. Jemmifer and Corey are 2nd cousins. Mia is my 1st cousin twice removed as is Jake and Megan to you. They and Mia are 3rd cousins. I think. . . . now that I've said all that I'm really confused!!! Doesn't take much these days. But, if I'm correct 1st cousins and their children remain 1st cousins ("removed once, twice etc")with each generation. 2nd, 3rd etc comes with the 2nd and 3rd generations. Know what I mean?? Your 1st cousins in California, Katy
p.s. now let's talk about names! How we got them; what we'd like to do with them. . . . :o)
