Pre-warning..........for those who are expecting anything of substance (not that I ever have much), this is just an entry of random thoughts about money.
With all of the "economic crisis" in the news, and a few other things in my life, I have been thinking about money lately.
First, once again, I feel blessed that I am "borderline poor". Barely middle class, according to my income. But, if I had an IRA, or lots of money in stocks, or living on my interest in investments, or having any thing of value anywhere, I might be a little more concerned. As it is............I am doing with this "crisis" as I do much in my life, wearing my rose colored glasses and telling myself "this too shall pass". (besides, I hate to admit this, but, those folks who are loosing their house to foreclosures need a place to live, I rent places to live to people who need a place to live)
Second, having more to do with the "other things in my life" part.........it came up again, in my business dealings that what a "whole bunch" of money is to one person, it just a drop in the bucket to another. I made a business deal on behalf of someone I work for, made him $3000.00, and me $300.00, without having to do anything but say "ok". I am totally happy. $300.00 bucks to me is a WHOLE lot of money, to the other person, their $3000.00, is not considered a good deal............that person is not mad at me, and it will stay a "deal", but, it just put once again, into perspective for me, that, different amounts of money, can be and are, perceived as a "WHOLE BUNCH" to different people.

I guess you heard that silly audio clip where Mccain and Obama are asked what they consider to be rich? In one of those not-well-thought-out-moments, McCain said "around 5 million a year" and Obama (in line with his tax plan) said $250,000 a year. This reminded me of what you said.
